Dear Earthlings,

I've been doing photography since around the age of 10, so I've taken thousands upon thousands of photos. I think I just took the best one ever, on Christmas Eve. From upstate New York, my brother Mike and his family were visiting my parents, grandmother, and I, here in Guelph, Ontario.

CN Tower, please return to these ORIGINAL POD NAMES.

For me, CN Tower / La Tour CN is my favourite and most infuriating #MandelaEffect. I was growing up and the CN Tower was building upward in the mid-1970's. I was obsessed, knew all its statistics and have travelled up it eleven times. And every one of those times, the biggest pod was called the Sky Pod and the higher smaller pod was called the Space Deck! Then sometime in the late 1980's or in the 1990's, mysteriously, the Space Deck became SkyPod, and what I always knew as Sky Pod became . . . well . . . NOTHING . . . or, sometimes Main Pod, Tower Sphere, or LookOut. I'm a CN Towerholic and always have been, but I always feel joy and fury simultaneously when looking at it and having to do a double-take. My inner child says, Sky Pod. The CN Tower says nothing. My inner child says, Space Deck, and the CN Tower says, Space What? This is SkyPod. And I say, "LIARS!" To prove my point that the large one is Sky Pod and the smaller higher one is Space Deck, attached is a scan of my own piece of 1985 CN Tower memorabilia! Plus, it makes the most sense for the lower pod to be SkyPod and the higher pod to be SpaceDeck, since Space is higher than Sky. -- Jonathan Tad Ketchen (SpaceDeck Space Cadet)

One of the times I was visting Hanlan's Point Nude Beach on Toronto Island, I took this photo on the Ferry ride between the island and the city. I found the size perspective between the boat's short little post in the foreground and the humongous CN Tower in the background to be a fascinating visual flip. Perspective needs to be considered whenever we look at something. Huge and small are a matter of perspective, and perspective can be deceiving as in this image.

Toronto's Royal Bank Plaza (the gold tower) seen from underneath the overhang of the entrance to BCE Place (now Brookfield Place).

It was a really nice surprise when I stood under the entrance overhang of one building, realizing it had a nice geometric synergy with the building across the street, from that vantage point!

It's one of my fave architectural photos I've ever taken.

The iguana was a gift to me from my brother Steve's family.

Sir William Wire Mann was made for me by my best friend from Toronto, Steve Martin. He works as a telecommunications specialist and makes these wire men out of left-over telephone wires.

I had fun Photoshopping this image. Because the photo was very low depth of field, I snapped two versions with my camera--one focused on the iguana's eyes and the other image focused on the wire man. Then I selected the in-focus wire man and put him on top of the out-of-focus wire man in the iguana-eye-focused version. Voila! Now both the iguana's eyes and the wire man are in focus through my digital wizardry.

I never know when I may be in the mood to rotate one of the names into predominance. It's ONE website with FOUR interchangeable names. I'm insane, just go with it ;-)

I live in Guelph (pronounced "Gwelf"), Ontario, Canada. This is my photograph of Guelph's Church of Our Lady Immaculate. It sits on one of the highest points in Guelph, so it can be seen from all over the city.

These were three totally separate, independent pen and ink drawings from my sketchbook. I scanned and combined them in Abobe Photoshop (http://www.adobe.com) as part of my senior solo art exhibit at Valparaiso University (http://www.valpo.edu), in 1995. I blew up the image to gigantic proportions. The finished product hung in the gallery at about 5 feet, 10 inches wide and about 4 feet high. It took 4 hours to print it out, tiled onto 54 sheets of paper. It took me another 12 hours to piece it together for my show on three giant sheets of foam core.

First, Jeremiah was given to me as a birthday present by my parents. He double-ribbits three times, whenever he is squeezed.

Second, one of my best friends Kathie Anderson gave me Geraldine to keep Jeremiah from being lonely.

Third, another best friend Nicole Hoftyzer "made" me Nicholas, a stuffed tadpole, since my middle name is Tad and stuffed tadpoles don't exactly fill the toy store shelves. Nicole has a degree in wildlife biology, so Nicholas is equipped with snap-on hind legs. This way two different stages of tadpole development can be shown, with or without hind legs. I named him Nicholas after Nicole, his brilliant creator.

Yes, I collect plush frogs. I don't feed them anything. They're already stuffed.

While living in Toronto, in the early 1990's, I became friends with Steve Martin because we were both addicted to the music of ALAN PARSONS. Steve is the creator and webmaster of the official fan site for Alan Parsons (TheAvenueOnline.info). He has actually even become a friend of Alan Parsons! What a lucky ducky! In October 2004, my friend Kathie Anderson and I met Steve Martin for lunch in downtown Toronto. He showed us his album of photos from the Lisa & Alan Parsons wedding. Yes, he was at the wedding. Thanks to my friend and ghost photographer, Kathie Anderson, for taking this photo of Steve and me.

Attached is a graphic collage I did from a screen
capture I took of one frame of a video
( http://youtube.com/watch?v=0X4HAIwJBEU )
of Alan Parsons performing his hits, "Sirius" and
"Eye in the Sky." I noticed, at this point in the
video ( uploaded by http://youtube.com/Mathelito ),
that the shadow cast by Alan Parsons looks like a
shadow that would be cast by Darth Vader.

Therefore, I called my creative [observational] adventure
"DARTH PARSONS (Graphic Collage)" by JTK.CA
also giving credit to YouTube and Mathelito

Toronto's historic old architecture of the RBC Dominion Securities building was actually picked up and moved, being fused together with the futuristic skylighted design of the galleria in Brookfield Place (formerly BCE Place). And, in case you're disoriented, I've fused together two of my photos of this old-new fusion into a diptych.
